Charlotte Kelso is an Australian soprano currently based between San Francisco, London and her hometown of Adelaide. She began her career as a mezzo, performing regularly as a principal artist with local and national companies in Australia. Charlotte transitioned to soprano in 2021 after commencing her Master of Performance at the Royal College of Music, London. Since then she has performed throughout the UK, Europe and America.

Recent performances include Donna Anna in Don Giovanni for her Netherlands debut and in Wales, as well as Musetta in La bohème in Wales. Earlier this fall she returned to her home company, State Opera South Australia, as Stéphano in Roméo et Juliette.

In the 2024/25 season, Charlotte performed the soprano solos in Janáček’s Glagolitic Mass and Poulenc’s Gloria at Manchester Cathedral with St. George’s Singers and the Slaithwaite Philharmonic Orchestra. She also made her San Francisco debut in Lieder Alive’s concert series, appearing in recital with Australian pianist Peter Grünberg. Following a grant from The Wagner Society of Washington D.C., she was featured in their 25th Anniversary Gala and performed in recital for Vocal Vistas: An Evening of Italian and Wagnerian Arias.
